Karl Burke in conversation with Vaari Claffey at Istabraq Hall

Limerick City Gallery of Art is delighted to present an ‘In Conversation’ event with Karl Burke and Vaari Claffey on Tuesday 26 October at 1pm at Istabraq Hall.

In conversation, Karl and Vaari will discuss the processes used by the artist in engaging with materials and space and his current practice in relation to the exhibition, Method C at King John's Castle.  Vouchers for free entry to the castle are available from Istabraq Hall. 

Karl Burke lives and works in Dublin and Sligo, Ireland.  Recent and forthcoming exhibitions include: Karl Burke, Flashpoint Gallery, Washington DC (2010); Nothing is Impossible, Mattress Factory, Pittsburg (2010); What happens next is a secret, Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin (2010); Automatic, Auto Italia, London and Pallas Contemporary Projects, Dublin (2009); Soundtrack for a Day, Model Arts and Niland Gallery, Sligo (2009); Volume V: I think I remember, Temple Bar Galleries, Dublin (2009); Corpus Callosum, Studio 1.1, London (2009); Spaces, Wexford Arts Centre, Wexford (2008). 

Vaari Claffey is an independent curator based in Dublin, Ireland. She is curator/director of the international visual art exhibition/event Gracelands which takes place outdoors and presents a program of screenings, lectures and specially commissioned artworks. Gracelands runs annually for one day only. She is director and editor with Isabel Nolan of Feint publication, a limited edition zine which operates as a site for both production and commentary.
