Limerick City Gallery of Art holds a historically significant collection of art from the 18th century to the present day and has an exciting exhibition programme of contemporary art of local, national and international interest.  The ambition of the gallery is to deliver an excellent inclusive service to an increasing audience.  The gallery seeks to develop its role as a primary visitor attraction in the context of a creative city.

Limerick City Gallery of Art is currently undertaking a large scale redevelopment of the historic Carnegie Building; the Limerick City Gallery of Art Phase II Development, funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture and Sport.  Limerick City Gallery of Art is located off-site temporarily at Limerick City Council, Istabraq Hall, Merchants Quay.  Limerick City Gallery of Art will return to the Carnegie Building in Autumn 2011.
