Public launch of a new multimedia sound art work

Amhrán na Beacha – Song of the Bees

The world premiere of the multimedia artwork Amhrán na mBeach (Song of the Bees) took place in Glenstal Abbey, Murroe, County Limerick, on the 27th April 2013, and featured a range of performers including the Irish Chamber Orchestra, monks from Glenstal Abbey, the Softday Apiary Ensemble and writer/beekeeper Judy Kravis. The initial concept for this creative project was to connect the life of honeybees and current threats such as Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD).

On Thursday 24th October 2013, at the Limerick City Gallery of Art at 6pm, Softday will screen the documentary of the Glenstal Abbey performance of Amhrán na mBeach (Song of the Bees) and launch a limited edition USB artefact and eBook of the project.
